Funeral Services for Edward Howe “Eddie” Lewis, 71, of Tulsa, were held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Connie Miller officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were William Harjo, Scott Gann, William D. Harjo, Eddie Wixon, Jr., Nolan Smith Harjo, and Eric Wixon. Honorary Casket Bearers were Darel Lewis, Floyd Springer, Terry Young, Jim Crafton, Eddie Wixon, Bing Gann, and T.J. Young. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Edward was born January 27, 1943 in Lincoln, NE to Robert Howe Lewis and Oletha Mae (Brammer) Young. He passed away December 15, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.
Edward worked as mechanic’s helper right out of school and later went on to become a top rated welder. He enjoyed being outdoors, and had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, camping, and metal detecting, and talking on his CB radio. He will be missed dearly by his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Lewis of Tulsa; grandson, William Harjo and wife Tracy of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Nolan, William Dallas and David Edward of Tulsa, and Megan of Shawnee; mother, Oletha Young of Tulsa; sisters, Sue Springer and husband Floyd, Joyce Brown of Tulsa; brothers, Darel Lewis of Mountainburg, AR, and Terry Young and wife Kristi of Catoosa; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Lewis; and father, Robert Howe Lewis.
