Eddie Curtis "Ed" Silkey

Graveside services for Eddie Curtis “Ed” Silkey, 77, of Skiatook, OK, were held Friday, January 7, 2022, at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. J.J. Blankenship officiated. Casket bearers were Jeremiah Silkey, Matt Silkey, Kyle Silkey, Aaron Marshall, Timothy Silkey, and Artie Silkey. Honorary Casket bearer was Charlie Tatum.

Ed was born January 24, 1944, in Tulsa, OK, to Charles Albert and Emma Mae (Harlow) Silkey. He passed away December 31, 2021, in Tulsa, OK.

After Ed’s graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended carpentry school and was also a cook. Ed enjoyed tinkering, playing with the goats, gardening, karaoke, go to various rodeos, and being involved in and serving in different roles in various organizations. Ed also was a member of Sperry Christian Church.  He loved spending time with family and friends and his beloved pets. Family was very important to Ed.

He is survived by his children, Matthew Silkey and wife, Ginny, Jeremiah Silkey and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Jazmine Silkey, Timothy Silkey, Kyle Silkey, Aaron Marshall, and Angel Marshall; great-grandchildren, Lexi Woodworth, Ronald Silkey, Kenneth Silkey, Anna Silkey, and Carter Marshall; mother, Emma Silkey; brothers, Albert Irvin Silkey, Kenneth Lee Silkey and wife, Ruth, Leon Wayne Silkey and wife, Sue, and Samuel Silkey and wife, Linda; sisters, Emma Mae Keene and Loreen Avon Thornhill; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Joyce Silkey and Letha (Weeks) Silkey; his father, Charles Silkey; children, Curtis Silkey and Elizabeth Silkey; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Silkey and Michael Phillips; brothers, Johnny Oliver, Silkey, Harold Albert Silkey, William Russell Silkey, Charles Stanley Silkey, Jack Lindell Silkey, Leonard Ray Silkey and Jim Morris Silkey; and sister, Marguerite Dolores Dempster.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
