Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Hightower-Dean, of Sperry, were held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Larry C. Hudson, Jr. and Reverend Dr. Curtis Linton officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Christopher Hightower, Michael Hightower, Lloyd Hudson, Eric Hudson, Jesse Pitts, and Dave Comerford. Honorary casket bearers were Michael Leonard, Mike Conner, Sean Dean, Michael Dean, Paul Dean, George Stevens, Dennis Cox, Ken Morain, Leroy Tweedy, Reudin Cheatum, and Dwight Doolittle.



Dorothy was born August 21, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to William Thomas and Edna Aurona (White) Bailey. She passed away April 27, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 83.



Dorothy proudly served her Lord and Savior and was a member of Phoenix Avenue Baptist Church. She was employed for 23 years and 4 months with St. John Medical Center in the Telecommunications Department at the time of her passing.



She is survived by her sons, Darrel Wayne Hightower and wife Suzette of Tulsa, and Roy Bill Hightower, Jr. and wife Vickie of Tulsa; daughters, Linda Bland and husband James of Bristow, Barbara Hudson of Owasso and Beverly Hudson of Avant; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hightower; step-sons, Leroy Hightower and wife Betty of Tulsa, and Bill Campbell; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ila Mae and husband Jim of Beggs, and Billy Staples and husband HL of McLoud; brother, Robert Bailey and wife Mary of Locust Grove; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, in marriage and in Christ.



She was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, Roy Bill Hightower, Sr.; second husband of six years, Jim Dean; son, Robert Sterling Hightower; son-in-law, Larry Carter Hudson, Sr; step-grandson, Jerry Hightower; parents, William and Edna Bailey; sister, Jimma Lee Covey and husband JM; as well as a host of family, friends and loved ones.
