Dorothy Jean (Carter) Copeland

Funeral services for Dorothy Jean (Carter) Copeland, 86, of Tulsa, OK, were held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phil Johnson officiated, and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Jody Stahl, Hunter Harlan, Charles Harlan, Larry Carter, Shelby Widowski, and Butch Duncan. Honorary Casket bearers were Chris Harlan and Jackson Smith.

Dorothy was born September 20, 1938, in Ardmore, OK, to Wesley Isaac Carter and Oma (Sumner) Carter. She passed away December 9, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Dorothy worked at U Tote-M for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She loved reading and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Stahl; grandchildren, Jody Stahl, Krystal Suh, Shelby Widowski, Stephanie Copeland, Sunshine Copeland, and Nicole Zufelt; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; twin brother, Don Carter; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Copeland; sons, Bobby Copeland, and Tony Copeland; parents, Wesley and Oma Carter; brother, Avil Carter; sisters-in-law, Carol Carter, and Linda Carter; and nephews, Larry Carter and Billy Carter.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
