Funeral Services for Dorothy Lavarne (Lemarr) Brown, 65, of Sperry, were held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Al Shults officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Stan Rau, Allen Rau, Mace Payne, Dan Taylor, Bob Maddy, and Keni Kennedy. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Dorothy was born April 16, 1944 in Waldron, AR to William Lois and Ruby Marie (Shank) Lemarr. She passed away July 12, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.

She was a homemaker and caretaker of her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Turley and former member of First Baptist Church of Sperry. She loved taking care of her family, listening to Southern Gospel music, teaching the Ladies Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Turley, doing counted cross stitch, and reading. She also taught 5th and 6th grade girls Sunday School, Girls in Action, and Vacation Bible School for many years at First Baptist Church in Sperry. She loved her Savior, and shared with others through the Word and loved others with a servant's heart.

She is survived by her husband, Kellis Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Garrison and husband Don; and grandchildren, Kelli Garrison and Kirk Garrison all of Sperry; brother and sister-in-law, Jim LeMarr and wife Irene of Odessa, TX; and sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Beaty and husband Vernon, of Owasso.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Lemarr; brother, Bob Leroy Lemarr; and infant sister, Mary Juanita Lemarr.
