“Doris Ann”

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin,

Niece, Sister In Law and Friend.

Daddy always called Momma, “Doris Ann”

Doris Ann, we need to this or Doris Ann we need to do that,

But always “Doris Ann”.

Her Family was her greatest Joy!

Anytime we had any big Family get togethers like for Grandma and Grandpa’s Anniversary or their birthday’s she would say “I’ve got the biggest Family”  5  Children, 13 Grandchildren,

9 Great GrandSons, with more Great grandchildren to come.

Hopefully we will get a little Girl one of these days, that would make momma happy.

She was so proud of each and every one of her family. Whether it was watching the

Kids plays sports, march in the band or whatever they did, she beamed with pride.

The Family getting together for Birthdays, Anniversaries or the Holidays made for a pretty full house, but she enjoyed every bit of.  Mother took great pride in her

Christmas Tree, it would look like a designer had come in and put it together.  She always

Wanted to make sure her house was clean and tidy in case someone would drop by.

She never had a bad word to say about anybody, she wanted everyone to get along.

She set such a good example for everyone around her.  She lived for her family!

We didn’t grow up with friends, we grew up with Family!

Mother enjoyed painting, quilting, working in her flower garden with her Roses and Irises,

going fishing, camping and traveling with friends and Family.  There wasn’t much that Mother

couldn’t do.  She helped daddy build the house that we grew up in and helped build

the old log cabin up at Oaks out in the woods.  They cut their own trees down, notched

them and built us our own “Little House on the Prairie”.  When we were younger(and skinnier)

All the kids in the neighborhood always played basketball at our house.  Mother would be right out there in the middle playing with them.  Later on she played basketball on the Church women’s league.

Who can forget Momma’s cooking.  Everyone always talks about Daddy’s cooking but who can forget Mom’s Apricot Fried Pies, French Toast,Tabuli or her Dressing.

If you knew mother, you never called the house between 1 and 2, she was watching

General Hospital or if she was going to have to miss it daddy would be taping it for her.

She was a fan!

We have been blessed by God above to have shared in her Moment of Life.

For the warmth of her smile, the sound of her laugher, her tender and loving heart.

These are the things we will think of in the time that we are apart.  For we know that some

day we will see her again as we share all the wonders of Heaven.

Yes, we have been blessed by God above for the love that he sent through “Doris Ann”.
