Funeral services for DonEtta Barker, 87, of Turley, OK, were held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Woodlake Family Church in Turley, OK. Seth Clark officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Chance Turley, Jason Turley, Anthony Bargas, Brandon Barker, Steve Hurst, Riley Helton, and Levi Clark. Honorary Casket bearers were Gary Talley, Jacob Downey, Kevin Ross, Rick Ross, Mark Clark, and Paul Clark.

DonEtta was born November 5, 1934, in Maramec, OK, to Robert Earl and Virgie Lee (Burnett) Chambers. She passed away April 28, 2022, in Broken Arrow, OK.

DonEtta worked at Jag Corporation for many years. She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother. She was married to the love of her life, “Tex” Barker, for 62+ years. She enjoyed attending family get-togethers and listening to blue-grass music. She liked sewing clothes for her daughters, Barbara and Janie, whom she called her “Pride and Joy.” She loved to coupon with her husband and her son, “sunshine” David. She made ice cream cones that looked like Christmas trees for her “cyclone” daughter, Rhonda.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Bargas and husband, Sabby, Alice Jane “Janie” Hurst and husband, Skip, David Barker and wife, Abby, and Rhonda Andrews; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren and one on the way, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Herbert “Tex” Barker, 1 great-granddaughter; 1 great-grandson, 1 great-great grandson; parents, Earl and Virgie Chambers; sisters, Rose Lee, Earlene, and Betty.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
