Memorial Services for Donald Lloyd “Don” Dobbs, 66, of Sperry, were held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend John King and Bill Hardie officiated and a private family interment followed. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Don was born November 26, 1947 in Sperry, OK to Everett R. “Red” and Katherine (Roller) Dobbs. He passed away June 25, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.
Don was born and raised in Sperry and attended both Sperry and Skiatook Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Don was a well-known businessman in Sperry and owner of Don Dobbs Wrecker Service since 1977. He was a member of the Wrecker Owner Association and the National Rifle Association. Don enjoyed camping, fishing, drag racing, and collecting guns, as well as watching westerns, listening to country and western music, and going to flea markets. Don especially loved visiting with his friends and family at Chuckwagon Diner in Sperry.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patti Jo Dobbs of Sperry; children, Donnie Dobbs, Jana Dobbs, Tammy DeShazer, Wayne DeShazer, and Steve DeShazer, all of Sperry; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Andy Dobbs of Tulsa; sister, Gwen Dobbs of AR; nieces, Patience Becquet of Jacksonville, FL, and Lori Monarch of Tulsa; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett “Red” and Katherine Dobbs; sister, Linda Kay Dobbs; and daughter, Amber Dawn Dobbs.
