Funeral services for Dollie Chinn (Harrison) Jones, of Sperry, were held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Larry Conaway officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Virgil Williamson, Charles Rowden, Bill Fry, Adam Stang, Ed Silkey, and Junior Daltzell.
Dollie was born January 14, 1914 in Kosoma, OK to John Will and Eunice (Wilson) Harrison. She passed away August 5, 2011 in Madison, TN at the age of 97.
Dollie worked as a waitress most of her life to support her four children. She worked as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Sperry, OK after moving there in 1953. Dollie was a member of the First Christian Church of Sperry, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. After moving to Claremore in the 1970’s, she joined the Central Christian Church and was an active member for over 30 years. She resided at the Sterling House of Claremore for seven years before moving to Hendersonville, TN to be near her daughter, who was her caregiver. Dollie was only there for seven months before she passed away. She knew many people and brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Phillip R. Adair and wife Barbara of Muskogee, OK, daughters, Waylene Stockley and husband Robert of Fort Myers, FL, and Nancy Henry and husband Bill of Hendersonville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her four children, James Wayland Adair; her late husband, William Sanford Jones; son, James Wendell Adair; parents, John and Eunice Harrison; and brothers, Charles Harrison and Will Tom Harrison.
