Funeral services for Delbert “Sammy” Walker, 68, of Claremore, were held Monday, January 12, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Claremore, OK. Reverend Johnnie Faught officiated and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK. Casket bearers were Justin Anderson, Tyler Sappington, Chris Anderson, Creston Covington, Cameron Walker and Kevin Seaton. Honorary casket bearers were Tres Helm, Daniel Walker, Brett Roach, Dillon Walker and Rick Pike.

Sammy was born December 14, 1946 in Claremore, OK to Daniel Hiram and Evelyn (Griffith) Walker. He passed away January 7, 2015 in Tulsa, OK.

Sammy worked for the Claremore and Catoosa Police Departments, Rogers County Sherriff’s Department. He also worked security guard for Allied Signal and ONG. Sammy loved riding and breaking horses, going bass fishing, and bird and deer hunting.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Anderson and husband Vernon of Grand Lake, Terry Walker and wife Dawn of Broken Arrow, Jerri Sappington and husband Jesse of Oologah, and Danette Walker of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Justin Anderson, Chris Anderson, Cameron Walker, JR Hager, Leslie Hager, Courtney Sappington, and Tyler Sappington; great-granddaughter, Ava Anderson; sisters, Sue Seaton and husband Tom of Skiatook, and Sherry Covington and husband Ron of Verdigris; brothers, Billy Walker of Catoosa and Danny Walker and wife Trisha of Oologah; Sharon (Walker) Clark, mother of Tammy, Jerri and Terry; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Joe Walker; parents, Daniel and Evelyn Walker; and grandparents, Louis and Susie (Gilbert) Griffith; and granddaughter, Tiffany Rene Anderson.
