Funeral services for David Joe Romine, of Sperry, were held Friday, June 8, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Billy Philpott, Billy Carter, Bud Gunter, Allen Holcomb, Bill Odell, Gary Robins, Larry Eddings, and Kenny McQuay.
Joe was born May 16, 1943 in Sperry, OK to Ralph D. and Irene Maxine (Stroud) Romine. He passed away June 4, 2012 in Sperry, OK at the age of 69.
Joe graduated from Sperry High School and attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, OK. He was in the Army National Guard at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. His lifetime career was the building of pipelines across the nation. Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter and hunted deer every season. That was his passion. He married Reginia Fay Harper of Sperry in 1963. He married Connie Prather from Illinois and raised Tiffany. He was a great cook. Joe was very loyal and kind, and loved his friends. Joe was a great Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Son. He loved and cherished his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Romine of Tulsa; son, Billy John Romine of Oklahoma City; grandson, Braden Jones; brothers, Bobby Romine of Tulsa, and Tommy Romine of Tulsa; sisters, Lorene Rider of Turley, and Wilma Chambers of Claremore, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Romine and James Romine; and sister, Julia Ann Diaz.
