Funeral Services for David Miller Edwards, 62, of Sperry, were held Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Bill Fields officiated and a private family committal followed. Honorary Casket Bearers were Daniel Roso, Christopher Take, Tanille Rogers, Engles Boys and the Explorer Baseball Team from 2002-2006. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

David was born March 24, 1948 in San Francisco, CA to Walter and Nellie (Lister) Edwards. He passed away April 27, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.

David was an avid OU sports fan. He enjoyed watching the OU games with his children. He enjoyed going fishing and coaching baseball for his sons' teams. He also loved to attend his son's basketball games and his daughter's choir concerts. David loved to cook "chicken and fries" and he loved to say "same thing, only different." Recently, Emily had been teaching him the art of text messaging. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his sons; Michael Edwards and Chris Edwards both of the home; daughter, Emily Edwards of the home; brothers, Donald Edwards of Tulsa, Robert Edwards of Mannford, Johnny Edwards of Sand Springs, Tommy Edwards of Tulsa, Walter Lee Edwards of Wagoner, and Lynn Ray Edwards of Langley, OK; sisters, Nellie Simmons of Sapulpa, Dori Morgan of Sperry, Cookie Wolfe of Sperry, and Susie Ballone of Sperry; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nellie and Walter Edwards.
