David Loyd Anderson

Funeral services for David Loyd Anderson, 71, of Tulsa, OK, were held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Kenneth Smith officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Robert Anderson, Davis Mims, Braden Anderson, Randy Lee, Cliff Mims, and Will Heffernan. Honorary Casket bearers were Morgan Heffernan, Henry Heffernan and Hannah Anderson.

David was born June 26, 1952, in Tulsa, OK, to Robert Calvin Anderson and Nina Elizabeth (Donelson) Anderson . He passed away January 26, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

David was drafted into the United States Army and served as part of the Military Police. After leaving the military, David worked for Tom Inman for seven years as an automotive and motorcycle painter and welder. He then went on to work as a prefabrication welder for Anderson All-Wheel Drive for 10 years. He then worked as a diesel mechanic and welder for Wonder Bread for 20 years, and also served as a steward for the Teamsters Local 523 of Tulsa. He was an avid music lover. When he wasn’t working, David could be found watching drag car, Formula One, NASCAR and Indy races. Most of all, David loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many activities.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Anderson; son, Rob Anderson and wife, Tamara; daughter, Chrisan Heffernan and husband Will; son, Cliff Mims; grandchildren, Davis Mims, Braden Anderson, Morgan Heffernan, Hannah Anderson, and Henry Heffernan; brother, Calvin Anderson and wife, Brenda; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson; mother, Nina Anderson; and sister, Elizabeth Sue Wilkinson.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
