Cody Brian DeBoer

Funeral Services for Cody Brian DeBoer, 16, of Sperry, were held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Sperry Schools Auditorium in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Andy Anquoe and Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in the Graceland Cemetery in Owasso, OK. Casket Bearers were Brandon Rader, Jacob McClellan, Hunter Williamson, Doug Provinsal, Seth Juby and Cody Jett. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Cody was born March 23, 1998 in Tulsa, OK to Brian and Stacie (Gooch) DeBoer. He passed away September 6, 2014 in Turley, OK.

Cody loved being active. He loved his 4 wheeling! He loved “muddin” with friends and running jug lines with PaPa Dale. The highlight of one vacation was “stalking” and meeting the Duck Dynasty crew. He actually got to have a glass of tea with Si (his favorite guy from the Dynasty). His favorite spot was Little Sahara. He also enjoyed working and hanging out with his Dad, and family trips with his grandparents and cousins.

Cody was the type of young man who always tried to make you laugh. You could recognize that sheepish grin of his anywhere. He had the kindest, biggest heart—always worried about other people’s feelings. His love for his parents was evident in the respect he always showed to them. His love for Chase was evident in the way he always gave him a hard time! He always wanted to go one step further.

Cody was five when he accepted Christ as his Savior. He was baptized along with his dad at First Baptist Church of Owasso. He loved going to Falls Creek, youth outings, and mission trips, and he loved hamburgers….no matter where his family ate…..he ordered a hamburger.

That truck was a very big deal to him. The first thing he did was to paint the bowtie orange….it took three bottles of orange fingernail polish.

He planned to go to OSU, and eventually open a small engine repair shop with his friends and fix four wheelers.
Cody lived: FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Stacie DeBoer; brothers, Chase DeBoer, and Clint DeBoer; grandparents, Robert and Roxann Gooch, and Dale and Marilee DeBoer; great-grandmother, Nancy Deane Shelley; aunt, Shelley Inman and husband Brandon; uncle, Brent DeBoer and wife Becky; cousins, Sidney Inman, Shelley Inman, Nick DeBoer, Jason DeBoer, Logan DeBoer, and Jordan Borthick; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James Shelley, Gladys Gooch, Robert DeBoer, Isabell DeBoer, Kenneth Porter, and Iris Porter.

Memorial donations in Cody's memory may be taken the to Sperry Schools Administration office or Exchange Bank in Sperry.
