Funeral services for Cloda Rae (Holt) Ready, of Skiatook, were held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Butch Barber, Barry Carr, Scott Ready, Bob Crawford, Phil Pattillo, and Tom Pattillo. Honorary casket bearers were Glen Davenport, John Jolley, Billy Conn, Kenny Bolen, Don Janzen, Ken Webster, and Jim Teel.
Cloda was born September 14, 1930 in Skiatook, OK to Elbert and Ruth Pearl (Thompson) Holt. She passed away March 16, 2012 in Barnsdall, OK at the age of 81.
Before her health would not allow, Cloda loved to cook, garden, and go camping. She loved to crochet, and also made many beautiful quilts. Cloda enjoyed playing the piano and music get-togethers with family and friends. When she was about 15 or 16 years old, Cloda traveled with her family to California to work in the fields for the summer. She loved to travel across the country to Texas, California, Oregon, Minnesota, and especially to Arkansas. She also traveled to Canada and Mexico.
She is survived by her son, Gary Ready and wife Karla of Skiatook; granddaughters, Anissa, Jamie, and Jenifer; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ready; an infant sister; parents, Elbert and Ruth Holt; and step-mother Ora Holt.
