A Gathering of Family and Friends for Clifford Dean “Spike” Jones, 70, of Muldrow, OK were held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Dan Switzer and Reverend Gary Howard officiated.
Spike was born May 18, 1945 in Sperry, OK to John Cliff and Kathleen W. (Dobbs) Jones. He passed away February 26, 2016 in Muskogee, OK.
Clifford was a veteran of the OK Army National Guard and retired after many years as a Civil Servant. He also worked for Jenks Distributing Co. in Pryor and owned a barbeque company on Grand Lake for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner’s. Clifford was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his children, Sherrel Whitten and Tate Jones; 8 grandchildren, including Shawn Clark, Spike’s fishing buddy; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Jones and wife Pamela of Muldrow; sister, Janice Switzer and husband Rev. Dan Switzer of Sand Springs; mother, Kathleen Jones of Sand Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Jones.
