Memorial services for Claude Mark “Bandit” Owens, of Turley, were held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Turley Assembly of God in Turley, OK. Reverend James Jennings and Reverend Charles Matlock officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK.
Bandit was born November 7, 1963 in Jonesboro, AR to Cliffton Marlin and Jennie Mae (Cambron) Owens. He passed away July 17, 2013 in Turley, OK at the age of 49.
Bandit loved to work and worked for the Tulsa County Parks Department as a maintenance worker at O’Brien Park and loved to scrap. He loved Juanita dearly and would do everything to make her happy. He enjoyed sports, especially football and mixed martial arts. He also loved history and skulls, and all of the kids would save skulls for him. Many say he definitely had the gift of gab. Bandit and Juanita took in and raised many children as their own over the years. He loved everyone, and would help anyone in need as much as he could.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Hamblin) Owens of Turley; children, Billy Hamblin of Turley, and Jennifer and Jason England of Skiatook; grandchildren, Heather Hamblin, Michael Hamblin and Noah Palmer, all of Grove, Anaka Owens, Sabashtin England, Jana England, Zac England, and Prudence England, all of Skiatook; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Owens, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Owens, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Owens, and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Owens all of Jonesboro, AR; and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Owens and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Owens of Chicago, IL; sister, Charlotte Saffell of Jonesboro, AR; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliffton and Jennie Owens; and sisters, Brenda Selby and Janice Greenway.
Honorary casket bearers were Jerry Wildcat, Chuck Whitchurch, Chance Turley, Tim Robinson, Darrell Hamblin, Jeff Mears, Johnny Webster, James Whitchurch, Ray Robinson, Michael Whitchurch, Tony Hamblin, and Tony Collins.
