Charles Lee Cagle

Charles Lee Cagle, 78, of Tulsa, OK, was born February 12, 1947, in Muskogee, OK, to Charles Andrew Cagle and Elva Katherine (Ferguson) Hagan. He passed away March 8, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Charles had 3 older sisters so when he was born, he was spoiled rotten by them. Throughout his life, Charles worked in various fields, dedicating many years to painting before spending 35 years as a skilled craftsman in rubber mold making. However, his true gift was bringing joy to those around him. His quick wit and playful spirit were iconic—whether it was teasing his eldest sister, Ann, by insisting she was adopted just to see her reaction and laughter or delighting family and friends with his spot-on Donald Duck impression. in his younger years, he could often be found strumming his guitar and singing, though he never quite finished a song. What he lacked in completion, he more than made up for in talent and heart. Later in life, he found joy in playing bunco, and spending time with family, creating memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. Charles’s humor, warmth, and love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his laughter and spirit will remain with us always.

He is survived by his wife, Daphine Saddurth; daughter, Shelly Sumpter of Muskogee; granddaughter, Raney Sumpter of Muskogee; grandson, Chase Sumpter of Muskogee; sisters, Ann Wheeler of NC, and Janie Willis of Tulsa; brother, Jimmy Cagle of Muskogee; sisters-in-law, Donna Cagle of Tulsa, and Deborah Cagle of Muskogee; 2 aunts; several cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Cagle Raney; parents, Andy Cagle and Elva Hagan; sisters, Ietta Collins and Sylvia McElhannon; and brothers, Robert Cagle and Jerry Cagle.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
