Charles D. "Charlie" Huett

Charles Duane "Charlie" Huett was born September 21, 1950 in Pocahontas, AR to Nathaniel Andrew and Lola Elvie (Oakes) Huett. He passed away July 23, 2010 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 59.

Charlie, who was also well known as "Babycakes," grew up in Vilonia, AR. He met his wife, Mindy, on a wagon train in June of 1989. Being one of those extremely rare, "love at first sight" relationships, Charlie moved to Sperry, OK and they married on August 11, 1989. Since 1990, he was employed by the City of Tulsa Parks Department/Forestry Division and he was, without a doubt, the most valued, hard working, and well-liked employee ever. Charlie and Mindy bred and raised Arabian horses for many years and rode together in numerous parades. He loved working with wood, was an avid NASCAR fan, but, he was most content when he was helping others and loved being around people. Charlie was simply a "gentle giant" who grew up knowing nothing but hard work for his entire life. The world was definitely a better place with him in it and he was adored by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

He is survived by his wife, Mindy Huett of the home; sister, Glenda Stumbaugh of Garner, AR; sisters-in-law, Carol Standeford of Sperry and Robin Howard of Little Rock, AR; brother-in-law, Scott Plake of Corpus Christi, TX; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Lola Huett; and brothers, Danny Huett and Norman Huett.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
