Funeral services for Carolyn Anita (Turner) Vanatta, 77, of Sperry, OK, were held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Roger Mathis, Glenn Jones, Scott Winford, Ross Mathis, Daniel Chilson, Curtis Hale and Dakota Jones.

Carolyn was born March 24, 1947, in Chicago, IL, to Joseph Turner and Ruth Edna (Hyhouse) Turner. She passed away May 31, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Carolyn was the fourth of 5 girls. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. Carolyn worked for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) for over 20 years as a Contract Coordinator. She then owned and operated a modeling school in Tulsa for several years helping young people further their careers. She later changed careers, becoming a home health aide in a group home setting. She loved and spoiled the many clients she cared for. Carolyn loved to travel, and she visited over thirty states and even Canada. Carolyn lived in several states and then came back home to Tulsa and spent several years living with her sister, Kaye, enjoying life. Carolyn found joy in hosting parties and entertaining her family and friends at her home. She loved to dance. For those who knew her, there was no one who could out organize or out recycle Carolyn. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior and will be missed by all the knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Cherie French; grandson, Noah; sisters, Kaye Winford and Bonnie Mathis and husband, Roger; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; her loyal dachshund, Freud; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Turner; and sisters, Evelyn Myers and Louise Palmer.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
