Memorial services for Buddy F. Kennedy, 80, of Skiatook, were held Monday, March 7, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Buddy’s son-in-law, Todd Moseley officiated and burial was in Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK.

Buddy was born May 21, 1935 in Calumet, OK to George Melvin and Lorena Fern (Pierce) Kennedy. He passed away March 4, 2016 in Skiatook, OK.

He attended Lone Star School with his older brother Nodd. He graduated from Calumet and went onto Central State in Edmond to play baseball while earning a degree majoring in industrial arts and a Masters of Education.

Buddy began his teaching career at Calumet High School where he coached basketball and baseball in 1956. After completing his training in the Army National Guard he taught and coached at Union High School from 1958-1961. After marrying his wife Linda they moved to Hinton where he taught and coached from 1961 to 1980 all while beginning their family of five. In 1980 they moved to Sperry where he taught and coached from 1980 to 1986 until he retired and ranched full time. Dad loved watching his kids and grandkids play and coach sports.  He loved riding the tractor and checking the cows. He was a school teacher, coach, principal, Sunday school teacher, church training director, deacon, Falls Creek, and RA camp sponsor.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Kennedy, children, Angie and husband Steve, Julie and husband Todd, Annette, Keni and wife Jennifer, and Rocky and wife Crystal; 12 grandchildren; brother Nodd and wife Betty Lou and their children; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Lorena.
