Funeral Services for Buddy Joe Burns, 68, of Tulsa, OK, were held Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Randy McKerley officiated and burial was in the Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket Bearers were Jimmie Fowler, Glen Stephen, Robert Elliott, Richard Shackleford, Carl Shackleford, and Jay May. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Buddy was born August 9, 1940 in Watts, OK to Roy and Edith (Cannon) Burns. He passed away July 1, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.

Buddy was a history buff and he loved his "boys" (his dogs.) He loved old things: old tractors, hay rakes, and corn prawers. He liked to collect old toy cars, salt and pepper shakers. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play ball.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Burns of the home; son, Darren "Petey" Burns and wife Cheryl; daughters, Dana Long, Sherry Reeves and husband Doyle, Michelle Hughes and husband Vance; grandchildren, David Burns, Derek Burns, Jared Long, Jessie Long, Cody Reeves, Landon Reeves, Hudson Reeves, Cassidy Hughes, Riley Hughes, and Page Hughes; sisters, Janice Hasting and Anne Mae Webb; brother, Mike Burns; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edith Burns; grandmother, Tennessee Burns; aunt, Rose; uncles, Bud Burns and Mutt Burns; and many other loved ones.
