Brenda Lorrayne (Burgess) Seaton

Memorial services for Brenda Lorrayne (Burgess) Seaton, 69, of Sperry, OK, were held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sperry, OK. Ken Roberson officiated. 

Brenda was born March 13, 1954, in Taft, CA, to Claude Oscar and Georgia Frances “Fran” (Dupee) Burgess. She left our world in her Sperry, OK home on November 2, 2023.

Brenda lived in Taft, CA through her early childhood years. When she was 14, the Burgess family moved to Sperry, OK where Brenda attended school. She met her love, John Seaton shortly after moving to Oklahoma. They married on April 03, 1972, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. John enlisted in the Army after graduating high school. Brenda followed him to Germany, and they lived there for 2 years. She returned home a few weeks before giving birth to her first baby girl. She went on to have 2 more daughters. The family lived in Skiatook, OK where all of their daughters were raised. Brenda loved being a mom and always put her daughters first. You would often see her in a sun visor sitting in a lawn chair at a softball game, or for 12 hours at a softball tournament. She also encouraged her daughters in all of their other interests and very rarely missed any event for them. She spent many years working at the Community Cable office in Skiatook until she started losing her eyesight at the age of 40.  Brenda enjoyed many hobbies. You would often find John and Brenda square dancing or playing volleyball with their many friends. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for friends and family. In 1991 she started collecting keychains. Anytime a friend or family member traveled, they would bring back a keychain for her. She has hundreds and she cherished each one.  Brenda started a bunco club called the Bunco Babes. This became a very close group, and she looked forward to their games every month for many years. Brenda spent her later years with her close family and precious grandkids whom she adored.

She is survived by her husband, John Seaton; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Dustin Shook, and Jennifer and Keni Kennedy; youngest daughter, Kari Seaton; bonus daughter, Angela Randolph; 8 grandchildren, Brennan, Bryce, Keylan, Wesley, Dash, Gracie, Lydia, and Joanna; and many more family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Fran, and brothers, Jack and Steve.

We love you and miss you momma.  Your love, influence, and advice will always be in our hearts and minds.
