Bonnie Marie (Milgate) Woods

Funeral services for Yvonne Marie “Bonnie” (Milgate) Woods, 67, of Owasso, OK, were held Monday, July 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Dan Korver officiated.

Yvonne, known to her friends as Bonnie, was born June 23, 1957, in Syracuse, NY. She passed away June 25, 2024, in Owasso, OK.

Bonnie was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, guided lovingly by her parents. A natural born nurse, Bonnie found her calling early in life while patching up the scrapes and cuts of her siblings Tim, Colleen, James and Tracey. In 1975, she graduated from Corcoran High in Syracuse and quickly pursued her passion in nursing, graduating from Boces Nursing School in 1978. She practiced nursing in the Syracuse area until 2011, when she moved to Oklahoma to nurse wounded veterans for the Department of Veteran Affairs until her retirement in 2020. Bonnie was an endeared daughter, loving wife, doting mother, and a beloved colleague until her passing. 

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Woods; son, Corey Gerace; mother, Mamie Milgate; father, John Milgate; brother, Tim Milgate and wife, Terri; sisters, Colleen West and Tracey Weldon; uncles, Sonny Black and wife, Marion, Patrick Black, and Allen Black; nieces, Jeanne, Kelly, Cadie, Ashley, and Samantha; nephew, Billy; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Vincent Gerace; and brother, James Black.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
