Bobby Dean "Big Hamp" Hamilton

Memorial services for Bobby Dean “Big Hamp” Hamilton, 57, of Skiatook, were held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at North Point United Pentecostal Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Kevin Neil and Pastor Adam Stang officiated. Honorary casket bearers were Thomas Stevens, Joey Hamilton, James Jordan, Mike Orcutt, Robert Orcutt, Scott Gillean, Mike Gillean, Bill Keeton Jr., and Lloyd Inks Sr.

Bobby was born September 19, 1960 in Tulsa, OK to Bobby Ray Hamilton and Lila Maxine (Forkner) Hamilton-Jordan. He passed away December 20, 2017 in Tulsa, OK.

Bobby was an automotive detailer for 20 years. He married his high school sweetheart on June 8, 1979 at First Baptist Church in Sperry. He gave his life to the Lord in his mid-twenties. Bobby had a deep love for NASCAR, OU, Dallas Cowboys, and restoring old cars and trucks. He also enjoyed going to the casino, flea market, and garage sales and fishing. He especially loved going to the kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, playing with his dogs, driving his tractor and giving the grandkids tractor rides. Bobby loved family vacations and some of his favorite places to go were Branson, and the lake. Bobby was ornery beyond belief, and loved giving his kids a hard time. He was always actively present their lives. He very involved with his family – never missing an awards ceremony, ballgame, grandkids’ class parties, holiday activities, birthdays, or anniversaries. Bobby always bought Sherry a rose for every year they were married on their anniversary. She was his first miracle and soul mate.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hamilton of Skiatook; daughter, Misty Stevens and husband Thomas; son, Joey Hamilton of Skiatook; grandchildren, Khy-Ellah, Browning and Kay-Annah Stevens; sisters, Karen Duprey of Skiatook; brother, James Jordan, Jr. of Skiatook; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; the Keeton Family of Sperry and Skiatook; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Jordan; father, Bobby R Hamilton; step-father, James Jordan Sr.; sister, Loretta Orcutt; and grandparents, Virgil and Gertrude Forkner and Morsey Hamilton.
