Funeral services for Billy Gene “Bill” Hutchcraft, Sr., 82, of Sperry, were held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Peter Piotrowski officiated and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK.
Bill was born September 27, 1932 in Dexter, MO to Noah Westley and Mabel Ruth (Metcalf) Hutchcraft. He passed away January 23, 2015 in Tulsa, OK.
Bill was retired, but his favorite job was working at the Tulsa Zoo as a zookeeper. He was also employed as security at both Channel 8 TV and Sperry Schools. Some of his hobbies were reading, painting, and wood carving. Bill also played the harmonica, and liked to sing and listen to music. He liked animals and enjoyed being around them. Bill’s favorite pastime was when he was around his family and friends that he loved so dearly.
He is survived by his son, Billy G. Hutchcraft, Jr. of Avant; daughters, Deborah M. Starkey of Sperry and Lisa A. Knapp of Avant; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Baker of Turley, and Brenda Lebowitz of Dexter, MO; brothers, Ronnie Hutchcraft of Sapulpa, and Kenneth Hutchcraft of Catoosa; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Hutchcraft; son, Edward C. Hutchcraft; grandson, Dillan D. Hutchcraft; parents, Noah and Mabel Hutchcraft; and other loved ones.
