Memorial services for Beverly Sue (Seritt) McReynolds, 58, of Skiatook, OK, were held Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Mike Wade officiated.

Beverly was born May 29, 1963, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, to William George Seritt and Janice Sue (Reamy) Forbes. She passed away May 10, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Beverly was a wonderful and talented journalist, a poet, and a published writer. She worked as a journalist for the Muskogee Phoenix and the Tulsa World newspapers. She thoroughly enjoyed her job at the Corps of Engineers. She was blessed to go on road trips to New York and Colorado with her very good friend, Claudia Richie Dohn. You wouldn’t want to forget all her dad, mom, and sibling trips to Georgia. Camping out with family and friends was one of her favorite things to do. Family reunions, especially the most recent one at the Tulsa Stockyards was at the top of her list. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her beloved friend, Jack Buck; son, Maxx McReynolds and wife, Dottie; daughter, Lillie McReynolds; grandsons, Mason, Samuel, Tyler, Gracie, Gage, Jackson, and Ryder; mother, Janice Forbes and husband, Richard; brothers, Perry Seritt, and wife, Andrea, and Ricky Seritt, and wife, Dana; sister, Karen Atwell; nieces and nephews, Keena and husband, Brian, William Cody Atwell and wife, Jess and Justin Atwell, Corey O’Brien, and Wesley Atwell, who were like grandchildren to her, Wyatt and Kia Dozier, Jessica Seritt, Cassidy Birk, Ethan Dozier, Sage Birk, Jason and Randi, Jeremy and Kassie, Ashley and Ron, Naomi and Issac , and Rikki Leigh Camden; 11 great nieces and nephews; stepbrothers, Rick Shipley and wife, Patty and Brad Forbes and wife, Deb; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, who passed from Agent Orange on June 16, 1993, William Seritt, US Army retired; grandmother, Elsie Reamy; granddaddy, Freeman Seritt; grandson, Cain; and former spouse, Sam McReynolds.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
