Beverly Ann (McCarty) Stephens

Funeral services for Beverly Ann (McCarty) Stephens, 84, of Claremore, OK, were held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Kevin Erickson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Bronson Roberts, Bobby Bryan, John Sullender, Brandon Bryan, Will Bryan, and Scott Hester. Honorary Casket bearers were Ed Ficklin, Kylah Hilton, Chris Bryan, Hank Webb, Joey Ficklin, Cheyanne Ficklin, Carter Sullender, Sierra Bryan, J.C. Bryan, and Kimber Bryan.

Beverly was born November 10, 1938, in Collinsville, OK, to Donald “Don” McCarty and Laura Myrtle (McDonald) McCarty. She passed away August 2, 2023, in Claremore, OK.

Beverly was the baby of 6 children. She was raised in the United Pentecostal faith her whole life and attended several churches in the area. She worked for Saint Simeons Senior Community in Tulsa, as well as a picture frame maker in Tulsa making picture frames when her children were very small. She also worked for Skiatook Nursing Home for a while. In the 80s, Beverly worked for Sperry Schools and then went to work for Tulsa Technology Center on North Peoria in Tulsa, until her retirement. In her spare time, Bevely enjoyed going bowling and ice skating, working on ceramics and needlework, as well as going to lunch with nieces.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Ficklin and partner, Ken Collins of Claremore, Beth Abbott and husband, Richard of Skiatook, and Steve Stephens and wife, Kim of Skiatook; 9 grandchildren, Carrie Webb and partner, Scott Hester, Ed Ficklin and wife, Whitney, Chris Bryan and wife, Lindsay, Brandon Bryan and wife, Ashley, Bobby Bryan and partner, Carrie Moeller, Lindsey Sullender and husband, John, Tyler Vent and wife, Makyla, Trevor Vent and wife, Rebekah, and Loren Magana and husband, Alex; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Stephens; baby girl, Sandy Vent; parents, Don and Laura McCarty; sisters, Fay Whitlock, Lucille Dunn, Deloris Asher, and Dorothy Wright; and brother, Ebb McCarty.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
