Funeral services for Barbara Jean Griffith, of Owasso, were held Monday, February 4, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Brian Jones officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Anthony Griffith, Josh West, Jeremy West, Robert Bray, Alan Downing, Milton Jones and Jason Griffith.

Barbara was born May 1, 1941 in Turley, OK to Chester and Mable Josephine (Hunt) Griffith. She passed away January 30, 2013 in Owasso, OK at the age of 71.

Barbara was a computer programmer for many years. She loved spending time with her all of her nieces and nephews. Barbara always taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at her church. She enjoyed sewing and would always make dress-up clothes for dolls, barbies and various other things. Later on in life, Barbara would take care of elderly people in her community. She loved to play Bingo, Keno and especially Dominoes. She absolutely loved OU Football. In 2008, Barbara was crowned as the Valentine Queen, and in 2012 she won a trophy during the Dominoes Championship at Sequoyah Pointe in Owasso.

She is survived by her sisters, Doris Jones and husband Frank of Sperry, Caroline Vester and husband Dave of Sperry and Darlene West and husband Kelly of Grove; brothers, Charles Griffith and wife Joy of Sperry, Jim Griffith and wife Virginia of Okemah, Don Griffith of Skiatook, Ronnie Griffith and wife Debbie of Owasso, and Bill Griffith and wife Debbie of Ramona; 25 nieces and nephews; 27 great-neices and great- nephews; 15 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; several cousins, and other relatives and friends.
