Funeral services for Barbara Jo Edwards, 75, of Turley, were held Monday, January 17, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Estell Ray officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Royal Ghazal, Dillon Moore, John “J.J.” Edwards, J.L. Collins, Donnie Edwards, and David Moore. Honorary casket bearers were Agustus Edwards, Bryan Coyle, Micheal Edwards, Charles Coyle, and Jack Edwards.
Barbara was born February 28, 1935 in Miami, OK to Lawrence and Josephine (Fortner) Schiffbauer. She passed away January 13, 2011 in Tulsa, OK.
Barbara was a homemaker and mother of three children. Her hobbies included embroidery, quilting, painting, wood carving, shopping, and watching old TV series such as Golden Girls, Murder She Wrote, and Matlock. She rejoiced in her family and the times they spent together. She enjoyed the outdoors especially the lake house at Fort Gibson and the blooming flowers.
She is survived by her sons, John Edwards and wife Linda of Wichita, KS, and Steve Edwards and wife Dianna of Sapulpa; daughter, Dona Turner and husband Don of Wagoner; grandchildren, John “J.J.” Edwards, Donnie Edwards and wife Kasey, Barbara Edwards, all of Wichita, KS, Royal Ghazal of Chicago, IL, Stephenie and husband Bryan of Las Vegas, NV, Agustus Edwards and Micheal Edwards, both of Sapulpa; great-grandchildren, Jackson Edwards, Jillian Edwards, Reagan Young, Elyana Edwards, all of Wichita, KS, Charlie Coyle, Ava Coyle, and Alyssa Coyle, all of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Joyce Edwards and husband Jim of Sperry; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Edwards; father, Lawrence Schiffbauer; mother, Josephine Plumber; and sister, Sharon Davis.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
