Barbara Jean Atkins

A gathering of family and friends, celebrating the life of Barbara Jean (Remington) Atkins, 66, of Bixby, OK, was held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK.

Barbara was born July 1, 1955, in Tulsa, OK, to Bobby Wayne and Norma Jean (Tiblow) Remington. She passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Barbara was the second of four children growing up in Turley and graduated from McLain High School in 1973. She married Mike Atkins on January 15, 1982. Barbara worked at Hobby Lobby and Skaggs in Tulsa. Barbara, Mike, and Chris, lived in Wichita Falls and Fort Worth, TX and Tulsa and Bixby, OK. Barbara was very creative and talented; her imagination was “sky’s the limit!”. Her talents included stain glass creations, drawing, painting, sewing and so much more. Barbara loved themes and would embroider her clothes to match any occasion or celebration. She loved her family and friends, always arriving with gifts for everyone. Barbara always had a giggle or a laugh, and was giving, loving, and touched so many.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Atkins; son, Christopher Remington; grandson, Aaron Remington; sister, Brenda Packard; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Norma Remington; sister, Nancy Lou Smith; and brother, Bobby Wayne Remington, Jr.
