A Z Collier

Funeral Services for A.Z. Collier, 82, of Tulsa, were held Friday August 14, 2009 at the Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka, OK. Casket Bearers were Fred Yelton, Jerry Goss, Bobby Erwin, Red Weant, Mark Chastain and Jerry Bean. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

A.Z. was born September 14, 1926 in Bromide, OK to James Washington and Ora E. (Lee) Collier. He passed away August 11, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.

He worked as a Ground man for PSO in Tulsa for 37 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 1002 for 37 years. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. He was extremely proud of decorating his house at Christmas.

He is survived by his wife, Twyla Collier of the home; daughters, Linda Lou Myers and husband Bobby of Owasso, June Bean and husband Jerry of Tulsa and Mary Scott and husband Floyd of Stillwater; son, Corby Smock and wife Shirley of Tulsa; grandchildren, Eric Myers and wife Jessica of Owasso, Lindsay Myers-Moll and husband Doug of Owasso, Julie Chastain and husband Mark of Morris, Mark Mabes and wife Rita of Mannford, Tracy Mabes and wife Tris of Tulsa, Becky Shanahan and husband Greg of Tulsa and Jimmy Smock and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow; great-grandchildren, Connor Moll, Austin Mabes, Ellaina Mabes, Tatum Mabes, Timber Mabes, Emily Shanahan, Max Shanahan and Everett Smock; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Ruby June Truett Collier; two sisters; and three brothers.
