Funeral services for Antoine John Panther, II, 51, of Tulsa, were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in Sperry. The Rev. Eric Wensman officiated and burial was in the Charley Indian Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Pallbearers were Willie Panther, Paul Panther, Carthal Girdner, J.D. Cole, William Tiger and James Ellis. He was born on April 9, 1957 in Tulsa to Antoine John, Sr & Dorothy M. (Washington) Panther.
He passed away on April 21, 2008.
He moved to many different states during his employment as a welder. He enjoyed Indian Cultural Dances, better known as Pow-Wows.
He is survived by his children, Kendra Panther - Ross, Shawn Panther, Antoine Panther, III and Tashina Panther; mother, Dorothy Panther of Tulsa; sisters, Amy Panther of Zion, Il., Susan Cole of Barnsdall, Mary Panther of Tulsa and Barbara Wisdom of Vinita; brothers, Willie Panther of Tulsa, Paul Panther of Tulsa, Norman Panther of Hominy and Russell Panther of Del City.
He was preceded in death by his father, A. John Panther of Miami; paternal grandmother, Amy Greenback of Miami; maternal grandmother, Cordelia Tyner Washington; and sister, Linda Stevens of Claremore.
