Anna Margaret (Wood) Gosser was born September 6, 1927 in Skiatook, OK to Theron Henry and Lyda Odelia (Keller) Wood. She passed away July 7, 2014 in Sperry, OK.
One of five children, Anna often testified of her Christian parents influence on her life. She was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Sept. 6, 1936 and thus beginning a lifelong commitment of faith in God and dedication to service. In 1945 she graduated from Avant High School. She married Allen Henderson and moved to Kansas. After Allen passed away suddenly, Anna returned to Oklahoma to attend business school. Upon completion Anna obtained employment with American Airlines in the accounting area. She enjoyed the travel benefits and the experience of visiting new people and places. While working at American Airlines, Anna met and fell in love with Howard Gosser. The two were married in Tulsa on August 18, 1952 and made their home in Owasso, OK. They were inseparable. If you knew Anna, you knew Howard. Howard taught Anna to hunt and fish; Anna led Howard to the church. Anna gave freely of her talents, time and money. She played the piano for church services, volunteered as a youth leader and teacher. After retiring from American, the Anna and Howard moved to Disney, OK. However, their dedication and service continued. They provided food, labor, and funding support for Christian and youth programs around the world.
She is survived by her sister, Carla Lassiter of Collinsville; sister-in-law, Pua Lani Simpson of Independence, MO; step-son, John Howard Gosser of Centerville, VA; step-grandsons, Woody Gosser of Roanoak, TX, and Eric Gosser of Ardmore; plus a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Gosser; parents, Theron and Lyda Wood; brothers, John Melvin Wood and Robert L. Simpson and Sonny Boy Wood (infant).
