Funeral Services for Anna Ruby Clement were held Monday, June 23, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK with Pastor Chet Veazey officiating services under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Sperry.
Anna Ruby Clement, 94 years of age, died on the 18th day of June 2014 at her home in Sperry, OK. She was born February 6, 1920 in Caney, KS to William Laurie Wimer and Maude Belle Wimer. The family moved to Elgin, KS. There they lived on a farm near the banks of Cedar Creek; a place where Anna has stated many times that she had spent some of her best years. In 1926, the family moved to Chautauqua, KS, where Anna lived and met the love of her life, Curtis David Clement. Anna enjoyed cooking, camping, sewing, and also loved working and documenting family genealogy. She also created a documented family history book over several years. Anna also had strong political views.
Anna held the position of being a magnificent homemaker, mother, and wife, which she devoted every day of her life to.
Survivors are her two sons, Jack Dewayne Clement, and Richard Dean Clement; one daughter, Linda Diane Corley; one sister, Lucille Bertha Carter; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer Laurie Wimer and Maude Belle Wimer; husband, Curtis David Clement; two brothers, Albert Donald Wimer and Charles Edward Wimer; two sisters, Gennie May Wimer and Edna Viola Wimer; one son, Gary Lee Clement; one daughter, Phyllis Gean Wade; and one nephew, Donald Wimer, who passed away the same night as Anna.
