Alma Juanita Hobbs

Graveside Services for Alma Juanita (Bowers) Hobbs, 92, of Independence, MO, were held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. The Elder Paul Gage officiated. Casket Bearers were Ron Gage, Stuart Gage, Aaron Hobbs, Joseph Hobbs, Jesse Farnsworth, Tyler Gage, and Braden Hagman. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Alma was born January 16, 1922 in Osage County, OK to Derias and Grace A. (Collins) Bowers. She passed away March 31, 2014 in Independence, MO.

She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, painting and fishing. She was a member of Waldo Avenue Restoration Church.

She is survived by her son, James W. Hobbs, Jr. and wife Margaret of Independence, MO; daughter, Karen E. Farnsworth and husband Larry of San Marcos, TX; son-in-law, Paul J. Gage, of Independence, MO, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur Hobbs; daughter, Sharon Grace Gage; parents, Derias and Grace Bowers; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lawrence Hickman; and brother and sister-in-law, Derias Wayne and Yvonne Bowers.
