Funeral services for Alfred Jefferson McKerley, of Sperry, were held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Pastor Randy McKerley, Reverend Doyle Ginn and Reverend Jim Catlett officiated and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Rex Brown, Landon McKerley, Waylon Brown, Leon McQuay, Ed Silcox, Danny Wright and Alfred Ingold.
Alfred was born December 8, 1934 in Coalgate, OK to Thomas Jefferson and Margie (Lewallen) McKerley. He passed away June 29, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 77.
Alfred was a welder by trade, working in various steel shops over the years before retiring from Heat Transfer in Tulsa. He was also a shop superintendent at Tri-Ex and Prescor. Alfred was a hard worker who at times worked two jobs to support his family. He loved to fish, travel, build things and attend church at Victory Fellowship in Sand Springs where he was a member. Alfred loved his family and enjoyed relaxing with his three Chihuahuas.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna McKerley of Sperry; children, Randy McKerley and wife Rena of Sand Springs, Terry McKerley of Sperry and Tim McKerley and wife Jennifer of Sperry; grandchildren, Heather Brown and husband Waylon of Grove, Lindsey Baggett and husband Justin of Sperry, and Landon McKerley of Sand Springs; five great-grandchildren; mother, Margie McKerley of Tulsa; sisters, Vivian May of Skiatook, Margaret Burns of Tulsa and Mary Howell and husband John of Stillwater; brother, Ray McKerley and wife Joyce of Bixby; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Caylon Brown; and father, Jeff McKerley.
