Lori Gail Davis

Celebration of Life services for Lori Gail Davis (Castillo), of Bristow, OK, were held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Hope Community Church in Tulsa, OK. Pastor Larry C. Hudson, Jr. officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Shawn Davis, Jesse Pitts, Thomas Schubert, C.J. Trammel, Steven Carter, Guy Tucker and David McFee.

Lori passed away peacefully on January 22, 2020 surrounded by family, in Tulsa, OK at the age 48 years, 8 months, 16 days. Lori was growing tired, but her family thought she was waiting for someone and thought that someone was her oldest grandson Ben, whom she was extremely close to. Ben called and the phone was held to Lori’s ear so she could hear him. Once the call ended, Lori took just a couple breathes and she was ushered into heaven. What a beautiful ending to her earthly story!

Lori was born May 6, 1971 in Tulsa, OK to L.G Davis and Linda Joyce (Davis) Bland. At a young age, Lori confessed her sins, and followed in believers Baptism at North Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Turley. Lori was a wonderful woman that is deeply loved, missed, and will always be cherished until we see her again.

“Gammy,” as she liked to be called by her grandbabies, “Lori,” as she was called by most, and “Lori Gail” when her attention was desired (in trouble), was an amazing, devoted daughter, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Lori loved to love on people. She also loved Pigs, online games, Facebook, memes, more memes. She was a dedicated fan of OU Football and “her” Oklahoma Thunder. She loved being a Mom but being a Gammy filled a special place in her heart she never knew was empty. She loved her grandbabies more than life itself and they could count on her to be at every school function and sporting event on top of being a fixture in their everyday life.

Lori spent most of her career caring for patients in area nursing homes and assisted livings. She spent the last years of her career caring for patients at Rainbow Health Care in Bristow, OK. Her career suited her servant heart and was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Lori is survived by her daughter, Amanda Grace Davis of Mannford; son, Shawn Michael Davis and wife, Melaine of Bristow; son, Jesse Lee Pitts and wife, Chante of Bristow; grandsons, Benjamin, Zayden, Tobias and Sylis; granddaughters, Emilee and Gracelyn; brother, Thomas Schubert and wife, Tiffany of LA; brother, Ronnie Davis; sisters, Barbara Hamilton and husband Danny,  Tresa Cosner and husband Perry, Diane Shatswell, and Kim Ezell and husband Earnie of Coweta;  stepsister, Debbie Horton and husband, Len of Owasso; mother and stepfather, Linda Bland and James of Bristow; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Lori shared deep bonds with her “Hightower/Hudson" cousins that cemented them at a young age as siblings. Lori often reminded her cousin, Tonya (Tonga) that God made us cousins because he knew our mothers couldn't handle us as sisters. She loved her family and her family loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, LG Davis; grandfathers, Burt Davis, Roy Hightower and Jim Dean; grandmothers, Flossie Davis and Dorothy (Hightower) Dean; one sister, Brenda Mitchell; two brothers, Gary Davis and Eddie Davis; uncles, Robert Hightower and Larry Hudson Sr.; nieces, Angie, Brenda, and Jeannie; and nephew Shane. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she has touched but never met.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
