Lora was born at home on December 18, 1917 in McLoud, OK to Thomas E. and Edna (Chilcote) Winkler. She passed away March 16, 2013 in Collinsville, OK at the age of 95.
Lora was the fourth of ten children, four boys, and six girls. She married Troy Mosier on March 22, 1940 at the preacher’s home in Chickasha, OK. Together, they had six children, four boys and two girls. They lived in Stillwater, Amber, Moore, and finally settled in Sperry in December of 1951.Shortly afterward, Lora joined the First Baptist Church in Sperry of which she was still a member until her passing. She loved the Lord and gladly served him throughout her lifetime as a Sunday school and Training Union teacher, participated in the choir, GA’s and WMU. Lora was a devoted wife and mother, serving on the PTA and being involved in her children’s school activities. She made many trips to Falls Creek as a cook, always helping with VBS, going on senior trips with her children, and opening her home for school and church activities. Lora was constantly crafting, quilting, sewing, beading, and playing the piano. Her hands were never idle. In October of 1971, she lost the love of her life, her husband Troy. Rebuilding her life, Lora became the church secretary at First Baptist Church, until her retirement in September of 1994, after 22 years of service. Remaining a widow, she pursued other interests and hobbies throughout the years. Lora traveled extensively. She also volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital in the gift shop, and was a member of the Friends of the Library where she also volunteered and served as a member of the Kiwanis.
