Funeral services for Gary Dean “Bubba” Pettigrew, of Sperry, were held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Doyle Cephus, Robert Denney, Robin Hausner, James Juby, Paul Lockhart, Tony Meyers, Jackie Pettigrew, Jr., and Ian Robertson. Honorary casket bearers were Robert Chasteen, Jeff Conley, Kenny Eddings, Robin Hausner, Sr., Merle Lockhart, Rick Pettigrew, John Pettigrew, Jr., Buster Ridge, and Gary’s Friends at The Bank.
Gary was born October 18, 1959 in Tulsa, OK to Jack T., Sr. and Dorothy A. (Owens) Pettigrew. He passed away January 28, 2012 in Sperry, OK at the age of 52.
Bubba retired from Pettigrew & Sons Painting and Construction as Lead Estimator and Supervisor. He graduated from Sperry High School with the Class of 1977. Bubba won many awards in FFA for Pig Showing. He liked going hunting and fishing, horses, races, and having a good time with friends and family.
He is survived by his brother, Jack Pettigrew, Jr. of Skiatook; sister, Kelly Pettigrew of Owasso; nephews, Ian Robertson of Sperry, and Jackie L. Pettigrew of Skiatook; niece, Ellen Pettigrew of Skiatook; several close aunts, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Pettigrew; paternal grandparents, Sherman and Irene Pettigrew; maternal grandmother, Ellen Carr McIntosh; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
